We appreciate the fact that while authors are the backbone of our service, buyers keep us going. Without buyers, we’d have nothing at all. To show our appreciation we’re giving away $200 worth of AudioJungle credit to ten lucky buyers. All you’ve got to do is tell us about some of the ways you’ve used AudioJungle purchases in the past, and perhaps how you hope to make use of the service in the future.
To do this, simply scroll down and leave your message as a comment. In a couple of weeks we’ll draw ten winners and contact you using the email address you leave using the comment form. Don’t forgot to mention your AudioJungle username in your comment so we know where to send the credit!
Thank you for buying your audio files from AudioJungle.

AudioJungle has a Twitter account! Now you can get AudioJungle news faster than ever, and see plenty of tips for getting the most out of the site along the way. If you don’t have a Twitter account, the blog will always be here and provide all the meaty details; this Twitter account is just a quick way of letting you know when there’s something new going on. That said, Twitter accounts are free and can come in handy.
If you haven’t already you can also follow our AUDIOTUTS Twitter account, where we discuss various audio and music topics and provide you with audio engineering and production tips for your favorite software.
We’ve introduced a new feature at AudioJungle: you can now sell your source files and make even more money as a stock author.
Buyers want the ability to modify the content they purchase to suit their purposes; they like your track, but perhaps it would suit their presentation more if one of the instruments was swapped out for another (assuming you’ve used MIDI), or the reverbs were backed off a bit. Perhaps they don’t want to purchase full songs, but starter project files that enable them to dabble in a particular genre or style of music. (more…)
We here at Envato have just launched AETUTS.com, a tutorial blog covering Adobe After Effects, headed up by editor Lloyd Alvarez. AETUTS joins the two out of four existing TUTS+ sites in providing free education on Adobe Creative Suite products — PSDTUTS and VECTORTUTS — as well as the broader NETTUTS and AUDIOTUTS.
The TUTS+ network is consistently growing and it’s great fun to watch. Every day we attract new readers and we seem to be launching a new tutorial site as frequently as we change underwear around here.
Okay, that’s a little exagerrated, depending on your point of view, but I’m just sayin’ the tutorial sites are doing well. Get outta here and have a read of AETUTS.
Just this week, we added VideoHive to our family of marketplaces. It wasn’t so long ago that we launched ThemeForest and all the sites are growing really well, so we’re pleased to offer video authors a place to sell and those in need of stock video a place to buy. Go check it out for yourself.
This week has been good to us, apparently, because just a couple of days ago we crossed the 100,000 member mark. The 100,000th member has been awarded with some Marketplaces credit to have some fun with. Since then we’ve already pushed through to 101,610 members and we’re incredibly happy with the way things are growing.
I think we should all mark this occasion with a cold beer!
Over at AUDIOTUTS, there have been a whole lot of tutorials that should prove useful for AudioJungle authors from a whole range of musical styles and genres. We’ve hand-picked a bunch of the best from the last couple of months and hope you learn some new skills to enhance your music, and enjoy yourself while you’re at it. (more…)
AUDIOTUTS has just published an article on a topic that raises emotional reactions from both sides of the camp, DRM. DRM is a broken technology that punishes the consumer while pirates go virtually unaffected. We don’t use DRM on any of the audio we sell here at AudioJungle, and we never will. Go read the article join the conversation in the comments section, over at AUDIOTUTS:
Thank God for DRM. Without it, the internet would be a cesspool of illegally pirated music, movies and software. Oh, wait, the internet totally is that, because DRM is, quite possibly, the most pointless innovation of the digital age. Companies spend millions of dollars each year coming up with new ways to protect their online content just to see some fifteen year old kid figure out how to circumvent it. Repeat as needed.
But DRM isn’t just an exercise in futility. When you absolutely, positively, must anger every customer you have, few weapons are better than DRM. Take these shenanigans, for example…
5 Biggest Music DRM Debacles of All Time
As most of you will know, a couple of weeks ago we ran the Composition Challenge here on AudioJungle. It was a pretty intense, fun competition and it worked out great. The person who won also happened to be the person most commentators thought should win.
There’s a bit more to his secret to success than just writing great music, though, but the important thing is this: it wouldn’t be possible to build a network and fanbase that works for you unless you have the skill and talent to attract them to your music in the first place.
Since some of you wanted to know how Quange used an effective promotion strategy to win, I thought it would be a good idea to post a link to the article where he explains his techniques. Not just because it might give you some ideas for winning competitions in the future, but because these techniques are equally important for building a fanbase and promoting your musical career. It won’t drop in your lap; “getting discovered” doesn’t happen. You have to work for it.

The artist is in a position of power. Creators working within the arts and entertainment play a huge role in defining culture and influencing the public discourse.
Despite the fact that Blog Action Day (run by the folks here at Envato) for this year has finished, there’s no reason to stop the discourse on important issues. Poverty still exists.
Throughout history, there are many, many examples of people who used the power of the arts to inform and change the minds of the individual, and influence the collective. The arts have changed the world repeatedly. Musicians have the power to speak to the people and impart a message, and it’s not all in vain. These words and stories have real power.
Remember that the issues that matter most to you can be communicated through your work and you can go to sleep at night knowing you’ve used your skills and talent to enhance the world and furthered the discourse on the most important and urgent maladies that impact upon the human race.
Just a short note to remind you that, despite life’s daily struggles, the things you create do have the power to create change.
