What are Logos & Idents?

Audio logos, stingers and idents are short pieces of music used for branding and identification, typically used in intros. They are predominantly used in film or on TV to give an audio identity as well as a visual identity to perhaps a logo or a product. Audio logos are also used on the Web in videos, independent films and podcasts as well as on radio and in console games.

Here are some very famous examples of audio logos/idents:

Columbia Pictures, Intel, Twentieth Century Fox, NBC, THX, Channel 4, Xbox 360

How Winners will be Chosen

All items submitted during the competition period (August 24, 2009 up to and including September 30, 2009) will be entered into a random drawing. So for example, if we have a total of 100 entries, and you upload 10 items, you stand a 10% chance of winning. You may also upload packs (which contain more than one audio file). A pack will constitute as one extra entry into the competition, irrespective of the number of items in the pack.

Winners will be chosen randomly using an online Web application called the Random Integer Generator. We will take the total number of files uploaded during the competition period, and generate 3 numbers within the range of 1 and the total number of entries. This will give us three random numbers. These numbers will be correlated against the chronological order of uploaded files. So for example, if the generator gives us the numbers 24, 57 and 100, #24 will be the first prize winner, #57 will be the second prize winner and #100 will be the third prize winner. If your item was the 24th, 57th or 100th item uploaded, then your file wins. The figures represented here (24, 57 and 100) are for demonstration purposes only, and do not reflect actual numbers.

This will ensure everyone has a great opportunity to win!

Competition Terms & Conditions

  • Competition begins on August 24, 2009 and ends on September 30, 2009. If any items uploaded to AudioJungle before the end date but have not been published by the competition end date will still be eligible for the competition. Prize winners will not be generated until 3 days after the competition has closed to ensure all entries are certified.
  • Only audio uploaded and accepted into the Logos & Idents category will be considered for this competition. Any audio submitted to AudioJungle but rejected by a reviewer will not be eligible for the competition unless it’s something that can be fixed, re-uploaded, and later accepted.
  • All Envato members from any marketplace are eligible to enter. Not a member yet? Sign up today!
  • Envato staff and reviewers are not eligible to win any prizes but are allowed to submit audio to this category.
  • Eligible authors can enter as many times as they wish.
  • Packs of files are allowed. Packs of files must contain a minimum of 3 unique audio files. You cannot use the same audio file in different packs. Irrespective of the number of items in a pack, a “Pack of files” will constitute as one entry into the competition.
  • Winning authors can only win one prize. If the randomly generated numbers fall on multiple items by the same author, we will look at the next item after the generated random number to determine the next winner. For example, if an author’s files match items 24, 57 and 100 (using our example from before), then the author will win first prize for entry #24, and then we will look at item 58 and item 101 to find the next winners. We will only run the random numbers once. If there are 100 entries and we need to go beyond item #100 to find a winner, we will go back to item #1 and move forward from there.
  • Winners will win the cash equivalent of their prize via Paypal. Any fees associated with the transfer of PayPal money will be the responsibility of the author. For example, if we transfer $600 to a winning author via PayPal, and PayPal charge the winning author a commission fee to send this money, it will be automatically taken out of the prize amount by PayPal.

Good Luck!

All that remains to be said is, good luck, and we can’t wait to hear all your awesome new Logos & Idents! :)
