Author Interview: ShdwsClldWithPpl

This week in our series of interviews of AudioJungle authors, we meet…

ShdwsClldWithPpl (Stephen Stechnij)

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from, what do you do for a living?

I’m probably one of the younger composers here seeing that only I’m 24 years old. I was born and raised and living in Wood Dale, Illinois, which is a suburb of Chicago, about 20-25 minutes outside of it.

For the past five years I was painting cars. I made a decent living, and it was fun from time to time, but something was lacking. If anyone knows anything about the auto body business, the owners of body shops have got to be the most unsatisfied, unhappy, money-hungry people I know.

I wasn’t happy doing what I was doing, though it’s fun for side jobs which make good money, and I don’t regret doing it for five years because it’s also good to have knowledge and experience of some sort of skill or trade.

I have since shifted all my efforts to writing music or anything related. It was 1988, my dad came back from a business trip and brought home our first CD player along with a gift to my brother and I, being a Beatles CD, “Past Masters Vol. 2″. I loved it and from then on, music would forever be a staple part of my life. (more…)

Author Interview: Danielku

This week in our series of interviews of AudioJungle authors, we meet…

Danielku (Daniel Keller)

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from, what do you do for a living?

My name is Daniel and I’m a 21 year old half-Polish, half-Swiss guy from Switzerland. I’m a logistics assistant and salesman in a Car Logistics Store (they don’t sell cars),  and I like to speak with people and sell them what they need to be satisfied. Until now I have receive just positive feedback, and I hope that doesn’t change :) .

Author Interview: Danielku

2. How long have you been composing music and what got you started producing?

I started around the year 2008 with doodling around and learning how harmonies arise. I listened to music and thought about how it is made, and started to take inspiration of it to start some of my own tracks. It’s a pity that I’ve never really got much time to keep on creating much music. Now I’m here and I want to change that!

3. Do you play any instruments? Do you have any formal music training?

I started to learn notes and I will start to play keys now I’ve got a MIDI keyboard in my room. (more…)

Track of the Day: Open Air Dance

Author: Saare
Track Name: Open Air Dance
Duration: 1:12

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

A quirky piece of percussive and folk-influenced pop that develops into somewhat of an independent movie anthem by the end of the track as the brass and flute instruments take control of the happy chorus. You can’t help but feel happier by the end of the track!

Audio Gadgets: Orb Bluetooth Headset

Audio Gadgets: Orb Bluetooth Headset

In the eighties everyone got wired for sound. In the noughties, its about going wireless. Many of us use Bluetooth headsets to stay connected, not least so that we can safely answer the phone while driving. Personally, I think big black Bluetooth devices sticking out of the side of our heads is pretty ugly – especially when accompanied by a flashing blue neon light. This gadget is trying to change that.

Hybra Advance Technology and AbsolutelyNew have got together and created the Orb Bluetooth headset. It looks slim and attractive, and maybe a little bit girley. Coolest Gadgets describe it like this: “Imagine receiving a call from your ring, removing it, and then turning it into a Bluetooth earpiece to take the call. That is the simple concept of The Orb, a ring-shaped device that becomes an S-shaped device to fit into the ear.”

The Orb uses NXT technology to achieve high quality bone conduction audio without the discomfort of placing the device inside your ear. The two words that sum this device up are functional and elegant.

The companies are also planning a deluxe edition, which achieves everything above, and adds a Flexible Organic Light Emitting Device (FOLED) screen to display caller ID, calendar reminders, and voice-to-text information for communication without taking the ring off the finger.

Like all good things, you’ll have to wait. The Orb Bluetooth headset isn’t planned for release until next year. The basic version is planned to cost USD$129, and the deluxe version will go for $175.

What do you think of the concept? Would you use one? I’m hoping they come out with a stereo pair so I can listen to music on the run.
