Audio Gadgets: Kenwood SP0001 Transparent Speakers

If you like your music to look good as well as sound good, then these Kenwood speakers might be right for you. Especially if you care more about the looks than the sound.
Maybe you’re looking for some decor to set off a new expensive desk, or your hand-crafted, artsy designer workspace. Maybe you love playing music in the dark, and the cool blue light of these speakers will set the right mood. Perhaps you like the way they match the blue glow of your M-Audio keyboard’s LED. Or maybe you just love showing off. These speakers will probably do it for you. And they come with a price tag to match.
In the looks department, the speakers are gorgeous: they’re made of glass – definitely not plastic – and come with a matching pair of heavy glass block stands with white or blue LED lights – if you pay extra. And why wouldn’t you?
In the sound department, the speakers are definitely less impressive – they have 10-watt, 2 channel speakers with 2.5-inch woofers and 1-inch tweeters. I know you normally wouldn’t be willing to pay a fortune for speakers like that, but think of how the look of these things are tempting you.
The cost? 100,000 yen without the stands. At least yen are about a hundred times cheaper than dollars! And you’ll have to pay for a trip to Japan if you want to buy them.
